Clif “The Drifter” Duckworth is a talented singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who makes his home in Southwestern Indiana. For over thirty years he has brought joy into the lives of all those who meet him through his infectious enthusiasm for spirited acoustic music.
Clif got his start playing music socially in his hometown of Newburgh, Indiana in the late 1960's and parlayed his love of music into a job as a radio DJ at a local station. By the mid-70's he had relocated to Springfield, Missouri and played such places as the chapel at the world famous Silver Dollar City amusement park. After returning to Indiana near the end of the decade, Clif formed the popular local bands "Paradise West" and "The Sons of Paradise" to entertain at various functions in the Tri-State area. more »
If you live in the Tri-State area of Southern Indiana, you haven't had to search hard to find Clif the Drifter playing somewhere near you. He has made appearances at "The Bluegrass Museum" and "Goldie's Opry House" in Owensboro, KY; the "Old Barn" in Rosine, KY; the "Trail Dust Ranch" near Dixon, KY; "Thrall Opry House" in New Harmony, In.; the Newburgh SummerFest; Newburgh Fiddlers Fest; numerous Cowboy Campfires; and has even been showcased as "The Strolling Banjo Player" on the popular Casino Aztar Riverboat.
Presently, Clif can be seen performing monthly at over 45 area Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities. Additionally, Clif guests regularly on Princeton, Indiana's WRAY radio (98.1 FM) "Roots of Country" show and has made appearances on WNIN channel 9 public television. He has even been a finalist 15 times in 8 years at the Indiana State Pickin' & Fiddlin' Championships in the "Male Singing" & "Harmonica" categories with the noted distinction of being a finalist for "Entertainer of the Year" in 2001.
Clif recieved 4th place in Mandolin, 3rd. place in Harmonica, 3rd. place in Bluegrass Band competition ("Clif the Drifter & the come-a-longs") and FIRST place in "Old Time Male Singing" at the 2007 Indiana State Pickin' & Fiddlin' competition in Princeton, In. over Labor Day weekend.
